Product Information

Q: Are Beauty Kitchen products tested on animals?
A: None of our products or ingredients have been tested on animals and we will never test on animals. We are currently going through certification with Cruelty International for the Leaping Bunny Logo.

Q: Are Beauty Kitchen products suitable for vegetarians and vegans? 
A: All our products are suitable for vegetarians. If you are vegan the following products contain ethically and sustainably sourced beeswax - something our flounder is hugely passionate about, as she is a beekeeper!

Q: Are Beauty Kitchen products organic?
A: We use organic ingredients where possible but every ingredient we use is of the best quality and is always ethically and sustainably sourced. This is something we are massively passionate about, so much so that we have been granted B-Corp status. A B-Corporation is a company that uses business as a force of good, and for us that means adhering to our ethics and beliefs that the beauty industry should be more sustainable.

Q: Can I use Beauty Kitchen products while pregnant?
A: With essential oils and pregnancy, it’s about their percentage mix within the product. All our products are 100% natural and we use high grade essential oils. We recommend the Chill Me range which has nourishing oils & gentle essential oils in this range. Always seek medical advice as we do not replace the advice of your medical practioner & doctor.

Q: Do your products have a use by date?
A: All our products have the 'period after opening' symbol which is the jar symbol usually on the back of the products. It will either have 6M or 12M within the jar symbol and this is the number of months the product can be used for once it's been opened. If the product hasn't been opened it will last for 3 years.

Q: Do any Beauty Kitchen products contain micro beads?
A: We've never used micro beads in our products - there's no need to. With so many natural alternatives like seeds and kernels, or even brown sugar - there's no excuse. Finding natural and sustainable alternatives is the only way forward.

Q: Can your Himalayan Salt be used for cooking?
A: Although our Himalayan salt is 100% natural, it has been tested and approved for use in baths & on the body but it is not classed as food grade, so please do not use in cooking.

Q: Do your products contain preservatives?
A: If a product contains water (including hydrosols, floral water and aloe vera which all contain water) or will come into contact with water (e.g. a scrub used with wet fingers) a preservative is essential to protect the product.  Our products are either self-protecting or natural preservative systems e.g. honey, vitamin E, essential oils & oils. There are several ways around the problem of preserving a product & we take our time to ensure we do this. We must adhere to the strict guidelines set out by the European Commission where our products have to pass stability tests to ensure they meet these criteria, all of our products are registered & tested.

Q: Are any of your products non-comedogenic?
A: Our Abyssinian cream cleanser, facial oil, eye cream, & hand treatment are great for acne prone skin (the facial oil in particular due to the other ingredients within it) & would be classed as non-comedogenic however the balms & moisturiser do contain cocoa butter which can sometimes challenge acne prone skin, with these products it is best to test first.

Q: How do I look after my Konjac Sponge?
A: The care instructions for your konjac sponge can be found on the back of the packaging. Each time after using the sponge rinse out any excess water gently and use the string to hang the sponge up so it can dry completely. If the sponge hasn't had the chance to fully dry out it can come apart more easily. Taking good care of your sponge means it can last for 3 - 4 months.

Q: What do I do if my airless pump isn’t working?
A:
Some of our skincare is packaged in airless pumps which means there is no tube inside. An air bubble could stop the product from coming out. If you close the bottle back up and thump it onto a worktop this should allow the product to pump out freely. It also helps if the product is at room temperature. We only ever use pre-cycled or recyclable airless pumps.

Q: I'm not sure what products suit my skin, can you advise?

Q: Is it possible to get a sample of a product before I order it online? 
A: We have samples of our customer favourites that we can send out if you would like to try our products or visit your local Holland & Barrett store where you can see & try an exclusive selection of our products

Q: What should I do with my packaging once I’m finished with it?
A: All of our packaging is pre-cycled, recycled or recyclable. The best thing to do with your packaging is re-use it. We would love to hear from you about your creative packaging uses. If you are not feeling creative, please recycle your Beauty Kitchen packaging along with the rest of your household recycling.

Delivery & Returns

Q: How long will it take for my products to be delivered? 
A: All orders are hand packaged and should arrive within 3 - 5 working days. Packages are sent via Royal Mail or Hermes. A signature may be required on delivery so please ensure you use an address where someone can sign for your parcel.

Q: Can I send products to someone else? 
A: Yes, just complete the delivery address section at the check-out. If you would like a personal greeting to go with your Beauty Kitchen gift please enter it in the comments section. 

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: We don't currently ship outside the UK however we do sell exclusively through Holland & Barrett who do ship to some international countries. Check out their website for more details www.hollandandbarrett.com/info/delivery-and-returns

Returning Gift Vouchers
