Our 5 Must-Have Products

The top 5 sustainable beauty products chosen from the Beauty Kitchen range - what they are, what they do and why they’re our favourites.

If you were stuck on an island, what essentials would you bring? For us, it would be the tools to create a sustainable food and water supply, a pile of good books and these 5 products.

For people who are new to Beauty Kitchen, or completely new to creating their beauty routine, we’re often asked “where do I start?” – for us, these 5 products tick all our beauty boxes.

Night Halo Potent Sleep Mask

Want to know our ultimate secret? Catching up on our beauty routine as we sleep – and it’s all down to our Night Halo sleep mask.

Naturally nourishing with Abyssinian oil, rosehip and raspberry seed oil, our overnight mask deeply hydrates and detoxes your skin while you catch some Zzz’s, so you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

Before you head to bed, take a coffee-bean sized amount and smooth it all over your face and neck so it forms a thin layer (it’s 100% natural and doesn’t contain any colours, so if you move in the middle of the night, your pillows are safe). Once you wake up from your beauty sleep, take a big stretch, cleanse your face with a konjac sponge or face cloth and admire your angel-like complexion.

Jo says:
“Sometimes when I’ve had a really long travelling day, I feel like a dried up prune, but when you put this on, you can practically feel your skin expanding before you’ve fallen asleep. The essential oils within the mask link straight to your olfactory bulb, which is responsible for your sense of smell and its processed by the limbic system into calming neurochemicals. Grazia called it ‘the definition of beauty sleep’”

Seahorse Plankton High Definition Facial Oil

Looking for super-smooth, hydrated skin with a youthful glow? Meet our High Definition facial oil.

Made with Seahorse Plankton (which is a microalgae that seahorses eat - meaning it’s 100% vegan, no seahorses harmed here) alongside angelica root, frankincense, blue chamomile and immortelle, our high def facial oil plumps and protects skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and gives your face that glowy, just-moisturised feeling.

To use it, simply apply four or five drops twice a day to your cleansed face and neck, using small circular motions. Do this before applying your chosen moisturiser, BB cream, primer or make up as an excellent skin smoothing base.

Jo says:
“This simply works - it has had clinical trials that prove that it can boost collagen levels by 19.3% within 24 hours. I use it twice a day and it smells great. We grow our own microalgae, so from manufacture to use, this product actually leaves a positive impact on the planet and 1% of sales goes straight to the Seahorse Trust”

Handbag Beauty Balm

The all-rounder and the one product we always have at hand, wherever we go.

A multi-purpose eco-friendly beauty balm made with high levels of potent natural oils, including Abyssinian oil, that are proven to help repair, firm, smooth, decongest and enrich the skin, restoring its natural glow.

This miracle balm can be used for all kinds of things; as a rich cleanser, gentle exfoliant or deeply nourishing balm to quench areas of dry or dehydrated skin (particularly great for dry elbows or as a natural lip balm). It smells amazing and comes in a small 30ml jar, so you can carry it around in even the smallest of handbags.

Jo Says:
“There are a few things I always have in my bag - a bottle of water, a mascara, a piece of fruit and this. I’m always on the go and this is my ‘everything’ product - it’s great for moisturising, cleansing and shaping my eyebrows. If I was to pick one product to explain Beauty Kitchen, this would be it - 100% natural, multi-purpose and smells great”

Seahorse Plankton Everlasting Radiance Moisturiser

Everlasting radiance in a jar? Say hello to our hydrated-skin hero.

A biologically proven microalgae, sea kelp, chamomile and and immortelle moisturiser that delivers daily hydration, age defence and cellular stimulation for dewy, moisturised skin. It’s great to either on its own, or alongside our Seahorse Plankton High Definition Facial Oil.

For super smooth skin, take a small amount (we’d say about the size of blueberry) and apply to your face and neck - but if you prefer more or less, it’s totally up to you. Moisturise your skin in circular motions until fully absorbed.

Jo Says:
“With my own skincare routine, I like to use an oil in Spring and Summer and add a moisturiser in Autumn/Winter. It’s perhaps a psychological thing, but I feel like I need that extra layer of protection. I use the Seahorse Plankton High Definition Facial Oil, then top it up with the Everlasting Radiance Moisturiser for an extra boost of hydration”

Seahorse Plankton 5 Minute Miracle Mask

What can you do with just five minutes? Make a cup of tea and nourish your skin with our 5 Minute Miracle Mask, all at the same time.

Made with our sustainable Seahorse Plankton and a finalist at the CEW Beauty Awards, the 5 Minute Miracle Mask is a quick, skin detox that cleanses, stimulates, firms and plumps your face, neck and décolletage.

Apply a thin layer to cleansed skin and relax for 5 minutes (it’s made with completely natural ingredients, so you can keep it on for longer, if you like). Afterwards, remove with warm water and a konjac sponge or clean face cloth for refreshed and glowing skin. This works even better when you follow with our high definition facial oil.

 Jo says:
“I love this mask because it’s not really your traditional face mask consistency: You normally see sheet masks or those that harden, but ours is more like a souffle, without being too fluffy. I use it as an indicator for my skin - if some areas dry faster than others, I know those areas need a little more attention. It gives you a skin analysis and helps you hydrate at the same time”
